The YUP’IK indigenous people live in Alaska and far northeastern Russia.
Both the Inuit and the Yupik live in the Arctic.
They have shared ancestors but have distinct languages and cultural practices.
Our loving couple “PATIENCE” are wearing embroidered clothes that would suggest they are from Russia.
I am struck by the couple’s demeanour which to me suggests a quiet and stoic patience.
Their “costumes” are vastly different than the North American Inuit.
The soft pale green stone colour supports the gentle nature of our couple.
